Welcome in Sherpa Sewa Kendra !!

Quite a few years have elapsed since the Sherpas from the Himalayan regions have come down to the capital city Kathmandu and settled there permanently or temporarily with the purpose of trade and commerce, trekking and climbing mountains, taking education and performing religious rituals in the central shrines. And the number of the Sherpa in Kathmandu is increasing day by day. No matter whether permanent of temporary, it is definitely an unknown place for them. Nevertheless, the Sherpas do not give up their tradition and culture wherever they may go. However, many Sherpas, who manage to live from hand to month by doing whatever possible for them in Kathmandu, have therefore, to helplessly face great difficulties when they are dying, or some one of their family dies, and they can not do post-orbital rites accordingly. Keeping this and other facts in view, an organization, namely Sherpa Service Center, is established in Kahtmandu through the united efforts of the Sherpas inspired by the spirit of social welfare in 1978 as an ad-hoc-committee.
